Brighton & Hove has set a target of becoming carbon neutral by 2030. We have prepared the Carbon Neutral 2030 Programme to deliver it and help residents, visitors and businesses play their part and experience the benefits of an improved and healthier environment for everyone. The plan identifies actions to improve the built environment, travel and transport, energy and water, waste, and the natural environment. The city’s Climate Assembly has made recommendations to improve travel and transport. These include a liveable city centre, low-traffic neighbourhoods and to consult and collaborate with communities.
Duncan Baker Brown our Climate Literacy Champion has been helping Brighton and Hove City Council with their Circular Economy Routemap which is part of their Carbon Neutral City programme.
As the city emerges from the global pandemic, Covid recovery will be a critical aspect of urban planning. We want you to help us make sure the Carbon Neutral 2030 goals are central to the city’s ongoing recovery and future wellbeing.
During the course of the day, residents, businesses, visitors and experts will imagine what life in a carbon neutral Brighton & Hove will look like and how it will feel as a place to live, work and visit.
