Product Design student win at New Designers 2019.

Congratulations to our brilliant Product Design students won ‘New Designers Best Stand Award’ at this year New Designers show and  the ‘New Designers 100% Design Award’ which recognises emerging talented designers  where runner up was Jack Moore.

His product ‘Kohav’ is a piece of public space furniture that aims to encourage positive social interactions, increase park functionality, and enforce accepted norms. The seating form allows for up to eight people to be seated at once; the ever-tightening curve inviting users int the seat, creating multiple points for face-to-face conversation. Its positive additional features provide users with WiFi, USB powers and Qi-wireless charging pads. These help to create smarter public spaces with a greater level of functionality in the modern world.

The ‘New Designers Lego Award for Playful Creativity’  went to George Gilliatt who walked away with 2nd prize for TOTEM WARRIORS is a new buildable figure and trading card game that sees players construct and battle gods from different ancient worlds. The simple wooden pieces feature no printed or moulded details, instead causing children to imagine the appearance of their creations themselves. Whilst interacting competitively with their friends, players will simultaneously develop their imaginative capabilities through exploration of the warriors’ personalities and actions. (Lego said it wasn’t worth him winning as he starts his full time design role with them in 3 weeks).

Well done all.
