Week Two …..End of the Pier Show.

Week Two of the End of the Pier Show build and the pace is really picking up with students and staff working flat out over a scorching bank holiday weekend. With 75 panels left to make, the team took delivery of an impressive 66 trusses, 207 steel frames, 185 of which are clad in 370 sheets of ply, 66 long scissor trusses, enough roofing battens for 19 roofs, enough floor joists for a house, 88 table legs, all the timber needed for installation (plus some orange sticks.)

From tomorrow morning buses will then start ferrying undergraduate students who are building the show students back and forth between the School of Architecture and Design to Hastings Pier so the exhibition huts can start to be erected. Meanwhile M.Arch students will be busy carefully packing their various models and drawings to take to Hastings either to display in their hut or to show to external examiners who this year will also be making the trip to the Pier.

There are then just three days to hang the show ….watch this space.
