Over the summer the third floor of Mithras House has been a hive of activity bringing some exciting new changes to the School of Architecture and Design. A brand new, huge workshop is nearing completion with extraordinary new facilities about to be unveiled. All the Masters studios have been redesigned and are now mostly co located on the second floor creating a new post graduate studio culture. There are specific spaces for Humanities and a new improved reprographics area. The Student Support and Guidance Office has been re located with first year BA Architecture and many of staff offices have also been moved.
As a true example of the schools core values of community and careful making, the BA Interior Architecture students along with staff and students from BA Architecture, Product Design and Sustainable Design have been redesigning their whole studio space. They have reused materials from the exhibition huts which showcased their work on Hastings Pier for the fantastic end of year show back in June.
A huge thank you goes to the staff and students who have worked so very hard over the summer months making these exciting changes happen ……(if some of them look a little tired on the first day of term you will understand why.)
