Collaborating with The National Trust.

MA Sustainable Design is one of the courses that now sits within the School of Architecture and Design. Here student Alison Rees describes her collaboration with the National Trust.

My work uses design as a visual tool to engage participants in sustainability issues. My research aims to develop speculative, future-focused research outputs that have a positive impact on sustainable development, and to vulnerable communities in particular. This research proposal seeks to utilise design methods and practices as a means to develop interventions designed to sustain agricultural heritage in rural South Wales.

It details a collaborative project developed in partnership with the National Trust, to engage local communities, farmers, and decision makers within the NT. The project aims to facilitate more coherent and transparent strategies for sustainable development in sociocultural heritage.
