A year on from opening at the Coliseum in London and six months since it premiered at LA Opera, BA Interior Architecture Studio Lecturer and Associate Designer for Akhnaten, Rob Vinall, received the news that the production has just won Best New Opera at the Olivier Awards.
“Working on this production was challenging, rewarding but most of all a lot of fun. Working with designer Tom Pye and the amazing team at the English National Opera was an absolute dream. I couldn’t be more proud that after what we felt was an incredible re-staging of Phillip Glass’s remarkable opera surrounding the story of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Akhnaten, has been recognised.”
As we near the end of the academic year a reminder that a degree in Interior Architecture from Brighton can lead to amazing things.
