Good stress: Bad Stress.

2nd  March is University Mental Day. Here at Brighton we place a lot of emphasis on how students look after their mental health; things that help and things that hinder. This month there will be four free Yoga sessions in the Studio every Wednesday to help students de stress. We are also running two workshops with a professional voice coach to help students who can can feel overcome by by nerves in crits present better. Initially this is being run in with a small group of 2nd and 3rd years to then see if we roll it our with future 1st years. The workshop has two parts and aims to teach students ‘tricks’ and  ‘skills’ to help with anxiety and confidence when presenting. We will also be working on a Mental Health poster campaign picking up on work that started in 2015 when Brighton hosted the annual Architecture Student Network Conference where the theme was architectural education and mental health.
