First years get stuck in.

First year interior architecture wasted no time getting stuck in to their projects this week. Kicking off with a fun welcome exercise  ‘Assemble by Instruction Customised Beach Hut Project’  which was executed with great care and proved to be a very encouraging first effort.

Then moving on to working in pairs, students  were asked to draw around the body of their partner in three different positions, then to layer the drawings on top of each other. This was a surveying exercise designed to help understand the space an object defines, how an object influences and is influenced by our relationship to it in space and to appreciate the value of the body as a surveying tool

Very enjoyable and many interesting results. Well done!
