Experimenting for preservation

Studio Memento’s first task of the second term was to experiment with ways to preserve an element of the surroundings of the site, this could be the fauna, the smells, the people and stories, it was up to them! Being left to their own devices they were told to come back a few days later to present a method of preservation they had experimented with and the reasons as to why this was anchored to the site. Each student found a different element they wanted to focus in on, with ‘Brighton perfume’, foraged food recipes and concrete bricks all being presented at the pin up. It was great to see them all beginning to have fun with the start of their investigation.
