Studio 55 culture.

Studio 55 explores a design development primarily through the making / crafting of physical models that lead into the crafting of drawings and spaces. In this studio, the act of making sophisticated models and drawings is the premise and method that we use to test ideas, explore solutions, and communicate our designs.

This year Studio 55 took a trip to the future. With Barkingside, Ilford, as their site, Studio 55 speculated and developed projects that responded to the way we may live, work and play in the year 2061. A series of diverse themes were explored within the context of the brief with projects ranging from extreme survival modes to social activism. These were all developed through the wonderful, intuitive and engaging act of making and crafting models, drawings and architectural spaces – staying true to Studio 55’s culture.
